I'm writing every day.
I was working a little too frantically last year trying to complete my first album of all new songs. I was writing many songs at the same time, as well as hiring singers, doing arrangements, working with a mixer, etc. Chaos.
My plan was to revive my old YouTube Channel by making videos telling the story of writing each one. Each one has a beginning, middle, and end: why I wanted to write it, the dreams I had when I started, the mistakes, the dead ends, all the long sections I spent weeks writing and producing and then cut, and so on.
For a lot of reasons (including making the YouTube project more manageable), I scrapped most of those songs, even though I'd spent $$$, stress, and time on them. I decided to focus on a five-song EP on a theme. No rushing, no compromises. Two of those songs are fully produced, and the third is 95% written. I am proud of these three songs, but I want the next two to be better. I've learned things writing each one.
Lately I've wasted time posting on several forums about AI. A friend helped me understand that it just doesn't matter. Let people do what they want to do if it makes them happy. I'm trying to focus on the joy I get from songwriting, playing, producing, and pushing myself to my limit.
