What are your go-to effects plugins?

Yep, that's a beast of a delay. I don't know of any delay plugin that'll top its functionality. Pretty crazy how far they went with that, especially for a stock effect.

    RIP: Dolly Parton

Not a fan of the genre or her specifically, but hearing 'Jolene' at 33 rpm gave me a whole different appreciation of her vocal qualities. Tmo only an absolute top voice can render such a result.

OK, so let's talk about DAWs...

Mixcraft is often overlooked, but it is an excellent DAW in its own right. I tried the demo and really liked it. But the intro sale for Cubase Pro 15 combined with their competitive upgrade brought the price for Cubase down to almost the normal price for Mixcraft Pro Studio, so that was...

    Modern pop music is HARD

I think this goes for any musical style that is outside your (or my) wheelhouse. As soon as you dive into the production 'secrets' for styles that are alien, it gets daunting pretty fast in most cases. Especially today with all the music technology we have now, and each specific style using all...

Nothing came to mind right away for July. So, I simply typed 'july song' into the YT search field and found this, and I quite like it.

If you are thinking about Reason, then just a few things you should know (mostly tmo of course): They (LandR) rolled out Reason 14 way to early. I was on the beta team and there were quite a few outstanding issues when they decided to release it. The consensus in the community seems to be that...

Why I Recently Decided to Not Ask for Critique on my Songs

When I write and produce a new track, it is good when I think it is good. I don't let others listen to it before it is done. When I release it so others can hear it, I welcome opinions on the whole, but I'm not soliciting feedback on details because I'm not going to change anything. It's already...

OK, so let's talk about DAWs...

Well, I hate to say "I told you so"... but both on ReasonTalk and Reddit I see several postings about certain rack-related workflows (some I actually use) no longer working in R14. It's clear to me; I won't be upgrading the DAW. Moved my focus completely to implementing a usable workflow in...

OK, so let's talk about DAWs...

Yep, I know. Their crossgrade is priced similarly to Cubase's. But I got Cubase with an additional 30% off sale (and I could buy it through my company, which means no VAT), so I'm hoping I can catch something similar when DP 12 comes around. So far I also haven't seen the option to buy DP as a...

Again, as I think I explained by now, removing stuff is NOT what I said I expect to happen. Again, I expect they will bury stuff and promote a 'different' way of working. To my point: As the snippet you posted shows, they do move the new single rack front and center, and using the traditional...

Not everything auto-routes, but when you drop a new device into the rack, you don't have to put in the cables yourself. When you shift-move stuff in the rack, it automatically re-routes (in 13, they switched the behavior for 14). The combinator also does quite a bit of auto-routing when adding...
