The best DAW is the one that works for you. They all have good points and bad points. The one that you will use is the best. For me, it is ProTools because it is the only one I can finish a song in without getting distracted trying to figure out how to do something.
Absolutely agree. I was just being a smart (dumb) ass. I use Logic and MuseScore, but I’m sure I could get along with a number of them.

Not a problem. I realized you were making a joke. I used to find it hilarious how crazy they get on KVR. On VI-C, it usually comes down to they all have problems, I need to do X. Which one does X best?

So someone like me that uses 2 DAWs (cubase and mixcraft), and might give reason a try (using it as rack), might be a problematic one for KVR..
Reason was my first instrument. It had everything I needed at that time. I think it was version 2? So no DAW. Fun to use if you like to see where your cables go. And coming from a hardware environment, it was nice. And I think you can now load it as a VST?

Reason is pretty functional as a DAW these days, especially when you come from a hardware perspective (like I do). I'm going to do a write-up on why Reason is my main (and only) DAW. That is, after I do my introduction message, which will give some context, soon-ish (I don't want to spam the forum with too many new topics from me).

Better be quick, the banner at the top says their 90% Black Friday sale is ending soon! This deal is definitely not running all year long!

By the way, "Diet Mountain Dew" has been a guilty pleasure for me lately, going back to when J.D. Vance was put into the spotlight and the media was making a thing about his preference for Mountain Dew. (I could be mixing this story up, and maybe it was someone else? Definitely a Republican, though, hence the "guilty pleasure." Which ... how messed up is that that I would feel guilty about liking a Republican's favorite soda?)
How could you!!!! Please, delete my account immediately, you monster!

Just kidding, of course! I am very nearly past caring about anything. I know nothing and hate everything. 'There is not enough violence in the world to express my anger.' (That's a quote from me; but one that I've never found a good use for yet so I thought I'd try it out here.)

Also, it was Vance who commented on Mountain Dew. He said 'I had a Diet Mountain Dew yesterday, and one today, and I’m sure they’re going to call that racist too.' Meanwhile, Tim Walz (Harris's running mate; remember him?) also happened to be a diet Mountain Dew drinker, though he abstains from both coffee and alcohol.

Or so says Vanity Fair:

I have a PhD in political philosophy and taught political philosophy for some years in a politics department. And even I am completely fed up with politics. 'I don't care. Shut up! Play the record.' to quote Radio Kaos.

I'd like to be home with my monkey and my dog. (Radio Kaos again.)

That Tim Waltz is some sicko guy, wait we shouldnt be talking about politics...... changing subject right away!

Thats a new one.... a monkey and a dog! I wonder how they get along... my daughter has 2 boxers and 1 cat.

I don't have any dogs, but apparently my cat is a boxer, for which I'm grateful. The other night I was tired and ended up falling asleep unexpectedly, so I didn't have my C-PAP mask on. I woke up to my cat bopping me on my nose with his paw. He's never done that before. I think he probably heard me struggling to breathe and came to my rescue.

I grew up with a black cat who looked almost exactly like that and he sat at the foot of the bed of anyone in the family who was sick until they got better. He could always tell something wasn't right and wanted to protect us. He was the best. <3

Is there potentially a place for political songs somewhere here? I think general political discussion online is pretty fruitless, but there are plenty of songs that are either overtly political or have a political edge (Sting - Russians, Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen, Carpenters - Close to You) so perhaps we should think about how they might be discussed.

I don't know about others, but I would prefer that such songs not be quarantined. The discussion shouldn't evaluate the merits of the political position voiced or critiqued by the song; but only the merits of its effectiveness as a song - including whether the lyrics scan, etc. It will inevitably have the potential to tread the border of political discussion; but I wouldn't think it would need to cross it.

This is so true. There are a lot of great songs that have a political basis. I'm with @Bee_Abney - there needs to be some basic rule about the discussion, but like drama, it makes for good song subjects.
